Without love, where would you be now?

I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
1 Peter 3:8
I found it a little surprising that this scripture was left by its lonesome.  Some of you might remember Paul Harvey, a radio announcer, author who would report on human interest and then give you “the rest of the story.”
The rest of the scripture here is “9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.”
They must go hand in hand.  We must be of one mind and purpose as believers: to follow God, to ride the hem of Jesus’s garment if we must but follow.  While following, you can not only observe almost like a passenger, but get off the “train” and help where called to help.  Some of us like to dig a heel into the train and say, “Wait God, this needs attention!”, even when prompted to move on.    We must bless, and be kind and keep following.  When you are hurt, close your eyes (you’re on the train!) and ask God who gave His only Son over for us, just how you can bless that one who just attempted to let your only perfume be bus exhaust.
Today, as you see the buses go by, pray for those evildoers, and give them back to God, who knows just what to do, always and forever.
For the ride!  Doobie Brothers…because where would we be without love?
Because of Him,
