Speaking Life

To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.

Congenial conversation—what a pleasure!
The right word at the right time—beautiful!

Hawk Nelson – Words

Today, before I even go to the end of the scripture, I heard this song in my head.  Just listen.  Before you read another word.

I’ll bet you’ve forgotten the words you have spoken that changed someone’s life, direction, attitude from negative to positive.  But I”ll bet you can remember words that have done otherwise.

Sometimes those words are just as growth encouraging as the others, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.  A co-worker and I were discussing this just yesterday, that there is so much more to talk about besides people. My third grade said words yesterday that caused me to completely stop the lesson and walk away. They had to apologize to me before I would resume.  They thought they were being funny, but they were hurtful and I told them.    The lessons come from all kinds of words that we speak or that are spoken to us, but the kind, life-speaking words are indeed like that lush carpet of pine needles and spongy grass for the soul.

Today, speak life.
Because of Him,
Linda
