Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.
There they stand, the innumerable stars, shining in order like a living hymn, written in light.
I don’t know what it would be like to look up, see a star, and pack my things, a gift for the unknown recipient, and travel. I don’t know what it would be like to travel with possible strangers, but strangers of a royal order, toward this goal. I cannot imagine encountering an evil King and following in agreement that we would not report our findings back to him.
I do know that we are on a journey, we don’t all know one another, and we are following the baby born under that star. We encounter evil along the way, and we do not give it prominence. We strive to arrive, star in sight, gifts poured out, ready for the next part of the journey…together.
On this twelfth day of Christmas, God Bless us Everyone. Keep on journeying toward the star. Unlike Darth Vader’s, this is the LIFE star!
