Romans 8:28?

Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark.
 ~ George Iles

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
Romans 8:28

This is a very different look at Romans 8:28. I am so used to rattling off the King James memory verse, kind of as a consolation prize for a hard time.   But those times when we think that we have “missed the lottery” by one number, or been delayed behind a truck that is leaking sand, or have internet service interrupted in the middle of a lesson miss what we CANNOT see.

It is so easy to get discouraged.  It is true that all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose…many times we are going in blind, but:
there is a voice in the darkness,
there is a fragrance that tells,
there is music to freshen
there are pauses that swell

our spirits to quicken,
our hearts to match beats
all fear to be stricken
the darkness defeat.

When you don’t know what to pray…just say Jesus.  When we get to the other side of this journey, whether it be across the country or home to Heaven, we will get how it all worked for our good, and be trust deeper, follow closer, love more dearly.
Today, praise Him anyway.
