Treasure Child

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

     ~Elizabeth Stone

Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.

~ Matthew 6:19-21

Treasure.  Kids.  It’s where my heart is.  When I see the children go forward each Sunday, I want to be there.  That is no secret.  I want to sit on the floor in front of the teacher and learn.  In the middle of a sanctuary, surrounded by loving church family, accented by worshipful music solid teaching.
The people I relate best to in school?  My students, K-5.  The treasure comes back every day, and decades later when one of them says thank you, or remember a good thing that happened in class.
To see our own children donating to a favorite charity, going on mission trips, lending a hand in the community…these are treasures, and make the rough spots so much smoother.

Today Lord, let me see all people as children, and let me see them through your eyes.  Make me a child you are proud of Lord.
Because of Him,
Linda
