Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

I love Eugene Peterson’s language here. The traditional language is “for we know that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are the called according to his purpose.”
Here, the acknowledgment of our weariness, even though we are waiting in the Lord. Even our groans and sighs are heard. He knows we are tired, He knows we have had enough, and He whispers, “Keep going, you can do it, I can do it through you, hope is right here, breathe me in.”
Lord, help me to breathe in your presence, live in hope, lean on you, believe with joy, give you my weary spirit and bones. Let me celebrate even in my weariness.
