Who You Are

You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair.

~ Douglas MacArthur

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

~ John 3:17

This is how one can be old and young at the same time; the sum of faith, doubt, self-confidence, fear, hope, despair. The good news is it changes all the time. The bad news is, it changes all the time.
The beacon, the tower off of which we “ping” is the tower of God, three in one. The tower is oft represented by the cross, the person of Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God. The tower is always there, even if the signal cannot be seen, felt, heard, tasted or smelled. It is there. So then we must proceed as a child of God who will inform all the benchmarks that Douglas MacArthur mentioned, always toward the mark, always in the name of the one whose name is above all others. Jesus.
