Ever Are You There

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.

One more thing, friends: Pray for us. Pray that the Master’s Word will simply take off and race through the country to a groundswell of response, just as it did among you. And pray that we’ll be rescued from these scoundrels who are trying to do us in. I’m finding that not all “believers” are believers. But the Master never lets us down. He’ll stick by you and protect you from evil.
                                                                      ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3
If there are folks in the house,
if there are clothes to be folded,
if there are lawns to be mowed,
I am there.
If there is a dog that needs attention,
if there’s a meal to be cooked,
if there’s a wash to be started,
I am there.
When the power goes out,
when the washing is done,
When the family’s been fed.
I am there.
When the house is empty,
when the chores are complete
when there is no other choice,
You are there.
Lord, lift me from always feeling the need to DO
and let me simply enjoy the pleasure of your company,
which is always available for me
when no other can be, will be, might be.
Let me choose You first.
Because of Him,
