Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees.

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
~ Romans 12:1-2
You are on the bottom left. The other person in whatever relationship you are a part of is on the bottom right. God is at the top. As you move through your life, looking to God, focusing on praising, heeding, doing the work of God, you cannot help but draw closer to the person on the right. This model also lifts you up, doesn’t allow for falling off.
This was shown to me by a friend who was a priest at the time. It is one of the most valuable tools I have ever received. It just saved me from wining about my present position in today’s culture, and it brought me closer to all of you.
Let’s keep praying for one another!
Because of Him,
