For the Director of Music

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.

                 ~W.T. Ellis

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

~ Luke 1:68-70

for the Director of Music

I felt the star rise

in my heart last eve,

harmony rose in the rain.

The darkness paled

by the praises sung,

dispersal of so much pain.

The smell of hay

in the air last eve,

animals joining the song.

A Savior born

in the stable there,

our choir, joining the throng.

Most Holy Child,

you have entered in,

prepared a place to start.

You joined us all

in heart’s chambers there,

Your perfect peace to impart.

Because of Him,

Linda
