Tasks that Need Doing

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.

unfolded laundry,
papers need filing,
visit to the dentist,
the tasks keep on piling,
dishes still out,
coats hung on chairs
books to be sorted,
to find new heirs
that friend who used me 
as a magic charm,
bait? all kinds of favor,
words that disarmed.
Tasks all begun,
tasks needing doing,
the one task that stings
in forgiveness long coming.
This skiff of inked paper,
a tool that begins,
the healing, forgiveness
Oh that your grace wins.
Lord, help me to put your tasks first, and let healing have its work as I lift those who have hurt me into the rush of your healing living waters.
