Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
~ 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
There’s the thing. Living for Jesus, who died for me, who died for you. This has many faces. When I was younger, it was alot more verbal. I shudder to think of how often I asked someone if they were a Christian, as if they had to pass MY test. I saw fruit, but I had to ask. I am much more likely to watch first now, and not ask, but live the example unless prompted by the Spirit.
Do I make the mark? My spiritual joints are riddled with scars from falling down, tripping over the obvious, insulting someone where no insult was ever meant. But I am happy that my hands are able to support me as I get back up.
Today, Lord, give us your eyes so we can see you in every person. Give us your tongue that we may speak words that do your work, give us your feet, your arms, your touch, your heart. In Jesus’ name.
