A Mighty Wind

Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.
                                                                      ~ Seneca

With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.
                                                                    ~ Romans 8:1-2
Mothers Day brought a mighty wind.
It blew blue haired, lace stockinged moms
sun-dressed, barebacked moms,
mother-daughter pairs in too short shorts,
hair wrapped moms,
stand-in dads,
bless-ed aunts,
a plethora of children,
and those who wanted for them.
It blew the petals from
past-bloom tulips, flame red and yellow
in our path, chocolate ice-cream drips
from an over-packed cone
and an under-quick tongue.
The sparkle came from moistened
eyes, pregnant good-byes,
warming words, longing sighs,
mothers gone, children far
and near, meals shared.
Some say it was the mighty wind
blew through Mothers Day.
I say the wind began with You.
