The Mockingbird’s Song

God guards you from every evil,
    he guards your very life.
He guards you when you leave and when you return,
he guards you now, he guards you always.

                          ~ Psalm 121:7-8
For Orlando
The temple bell stops but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers.

                            ~ Basho
Mockingbird sings in the life of dawn,
we oft complain as he sings on,
he sings the songs his friends have lost
and counts the cost, oh he counts the cost.
   ~LT Dickman

I had a wise pastor who once shared with me a simple statement in response to a query I had about battered wives. She said, “If one of us isn’t free, then none of us are free.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu’s statement ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FBqTgNb5MA ) calls us to respect all others, calls us to be reminded that we are all victims, calls us to the action of love.
When I hear the mockingbird, I think of the songs that were lost in Orlando, I have a new respect for the mockingbird.
Because of Him,
Linda
