Rise in Our Hearts

For the spirit of Christmas fulfils the greatest hunger of mankind.

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Washed in the glow of Christmas,

we move now through our days,

lighter, kinder, wiser,

resume our daily plays.

Wise men brought you frankincense,

laid before you gold and myrrh,

they recognized the royalty,

though you spoke not a word.

Let us carry forward,

the joy of that surprise.

That  as we hold you in our hearts,

you shine forth in our eyes.

Because of Him,
