Tie My Shoes?

Kindness is just love with its workboots on.

So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.”

     ~1 Peter1:15-16

But I am tired, Lord.

Tired of the words,

     tired of being misunderstood,

tired of being silent in insult’s face.

My work boots are worn thin

My laces untied

and many miles to go before I sleep.

Revive my spirit oh Living Water,

Heal my soul and my soles.

Please cuff up my sleeves like a loving mother

Breathe afresh across my thinking

and please Lord, could you tie my shoes?

Giving you back the lead will be just,

     heaven.

Because of Him,

Linda
