Kindness

One kind word can warm three winter months.

      ~Japanese Proverb

Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I’ll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You’ll be living proof that I didn’t go to all this work for nothing.

      ~ Philippians 2:14-16

So much venom in the wind.

As if a cobra bit down

      the lungs of humanity

      we are gasping, filled with

     the worst thickening agent.

     We have lost our breath,

     our heart for You.

     Ether filled with sound-

     bytes that poison, repeat, poison.

     Lift our eyes Lord,

     Set them on the horizon,

     Open up our ailing lungs

salt air, citrus, pine, living water

     cleansing agents divine,

      be Thou our vision

restore kindness in the smallest things,

as we step out to meet You on the water.
