Tea is quiet and our thirst for tea is never far from our craving for beauty.

1-2 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
Yesterday I was thinking about having coffee with Jesus. I wondered what I would do, what he would do. It occurred to me that I would probably just stare for a long time, or hug him forever. I just don’t know what I would do. I do know that as a result of yesterday’s devotional, all the bitterness and confusion in my heart regarding a certain “B-52” was removed and filled with peace, acceptance, love. Love not only for that individual, but for another “aircraft” as well.
Today, I am looking to be an offering to the Lord. Thankful for all the way I have come, thankful for the lessons learned, the people loved and ready to have tea with Jesus right here on earth. Thankful for my husband who really listens at my frustrations with so many things, thankful for my family who loves me no matter what. Thankful for the little Grandpa Dog that we adopted and who brings so much joy to our home.
What would you do if you could have tea with Jesus? I can only imagine…

Because of Him,
Make your optimism come true.
22-25 Now that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following the truth, love one another as if your lives depended on it. Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself! That’s why the prophet said,
The old life is a grass life,
its beauty as short-lived as wildflowers;
Grass dries up, flowers droop,
God’s Word goes on and on forever.
This is the Word that conceived the new life in you.
~ 1 Peter 1:24-25
There is a “B-52” in my circle of life that is invasive, loud, imposing, unforgiving, unrelenting. I just go the other way when she comes near. I spoke with a dear friend about the situation because I knew that this person was not going to change, and that I had to, but I did not know how to approach doing so.
Her words were simple, “Either love her the way she is, or stay out of her way.” Of course I knew the right direction to follow. That first part of the phrase danced on my heart strings like a master violinist! It is not easy, but slowly I can see the sparkle in the wave when she approaches, the way she interacts positively with many. She is who she is…just like me. God loves me, so my prayer is that God will love this person through me.
It may be uncomfortable for a time, but I know it means a growing time. Here’s to the Master Gardener and possibilities.
