Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find out.

     ~ Frank A. Clark

Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

     ~ Deuteronomy 7:9

     It is hard to do things for folks who will never find out.  Many charities want your name for tax purposes,  some give you the option of being anonymous but, they know.  The good news is the donors do not.  If you assign your organs to science, groundbreaking research can be done and that crystal moment of discovery might be done using your organ!  I could go on , but you get the idea: no matter what you do, someone knows.

     I like the kind of good that gets planted in another and then they do a kindness and pay it forward. That kind of good never dies, and few know where it began, but it is a wonderful chain reaction.  There is a  dollar pizza shop called Rosa’s in Philadelphia that allows you to buy a slice for a homeless person, and then a post it note is placed on the wall for the hungry person to redeem.
If you do it right, that person will never know.

     There are so many folks who plot and plan ways of hurting people so that they won’t know.  Bullying curriculum chokes our mailboxes both paper and “e”.  What a wonderful alternative to that…plot and plan to do good that no one will know it was you!  Try it today.  I’d love to hear what methods you have come up with!

Lord help me to be the change, help me to do good and be unseen.  Help those that are helped to pay it forward with as much grace as you have given them. Help that to become the new norm.  Let the love radiate from Philadelphia and change lives because of Rosa’s.

A Note To God

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

~ Percy Bysshe Shelley, “The Sensitive Plant

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

~ Deuteronomy 7:9

A Note to God

Winter pressed down like an anvil
dense upon the earth,
no small patch to walk on,
no swelling greening mirth.

Then you breathed upon it,
ice and snow uncurled,
leaving spring’s bright promise
your reminder to the world.

Help us to release our will
as your breath we feel,
guide us to your chosen path,
your mercies to reveal.

I am Your Child

 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

     ~ Deuteronomy 7:9

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.

     ~ Stacia Tauscher

I cannot shake the feeling that I am God’s child.  Every time the pastor calls for the children to come forward I have to physically stop  myself because somewhere in my inner self, that is the first “person” to respond to his words.

We had a centenarian in our church who had been in the ministry for 75 of his one hundred years.  Whenever he saw a child, he sat or got to their eye level, and the years would visibly disappear from his face, leaving a youthful smile and a memory that clearly demonstrated he had not forgotten.

Today, when you look at that one who vexes you so, look for the child of God. Lift them in your prayers, every time you think of them.

Because of Him,
Linda
