Grace

“The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.”

                         ~ Arthur Conan Doyle

It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s Word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom. If you bite and ravage each other, watch out—in no time at all you will be annihilating each other, and where will your precious freedom be then?
~ Galatians 5:13

I sit in the corner, if given the chance.
Back to the corner, I can sweep with a glance.

The room full of people, relationships bare.
A room full of strangers or church members there.

Then he enters in, and all I can see,
is his reflection, the room is all free.

The gift is not opened by all in the place.
But this day, I open it.  That pendant marked Grace.

A New Hallelujah
Because of Him,
Linda

Heavenly Garment Store

Use what talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.

~Author unknown, quoted in The Ladies Repository: A Monthly    Periodical, Devoted to Literature, Arts, and Religion, September 1874, commonly misattributed to Henry Van Dyke and Henry David Thoreau

It is so easy to look back at my high school classmates and wonder why there was so much back biting between some.  Now I know that it had more to do with insecurity than reality.  We had little idea what we could do best, but all kinds of ideas about what we thought we should be able to do.  And that seemed to be whatever someone else could do.
I had to be tall, thin, blonde, a singer, a dancer, an actor…whatever I wasn’t.  Recently someone posted a sign about how to dress in the summer.  It said to dress the body you have, not the body you want.  The same applies to our spiritual selves, our writing selves, our physical selves;  we have to dress what we have.   We have to shop at the Heavenly garment store, where the proprietor knows our perfect size, our needs, what is realistic, what is possible.  In Him.  Because in Him is where we live and move and have our being.
Today, put on your whole armour, look at the mirror through his eyes, lift your eyes to the hills, and praise His holy name.
This Day

Because of Him,
Linda
