Gardens are a form of autobiography.

                        ~Sydney Eddison, Horticulture magazine,                                                    August/September 1993

Earlier there were a lot of priests, for they died and had to be replaced. But Jesus’ priesthood is permanent. He’s there from now to eternity to save everyone who comes to God through him, always on the job to speak up for them.

                         ~ Hebrews 7:25

She was a wee woman, slight of build and very quiet.  Her name was unpronounceable, but I mastered it.  She did not speak much, when she spoke, it was not always noteworthy.  One day, she brought a bouquet of flowers for a co-worker.  Folks asked her where she got them.  All she would say was, “In my garden.”
The array of pink hues was beautiful, exquisite, lovingly composed, unmatched on many levels.  In that moment, I saw the woman whose hands were so lovingly placed around the base of the stems, and I saw her deeply. This was her inner beauty!
She was among the best teachers I have ever had the privilege with which to work. She had the same affect on old linens, and her students because she took the time to tend them.
This is how Jesus sees us, we are the flowers of His garden, and he tends to us, and we rise up, again and again, thorns and all to show the loving care of God.
Today, pray for the other flowers, the old linens in your lives, and take a good long look at your gardener.
Because of Him,
Linda
