Before the Rocks Cry Out!

If God had wanted to be a big secret, He would not have created babbling brooks and whispering pines.

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

Before the Rocks Cry Out
Oh sing praises my soul!
Let me join the chorus of whispering pines,
Let the wind of your Spirit blow
that those pines might raise their song even higher!

Oh sing praises my soul!
Let the brooks teach me how to bubble
with your praise,
Let the ancient brooks bubble anew.

Oh sing praises my heart!
Oh Lord, the rocks glisten with your light,
Let me shine with them and sing out
before they drown out my efforts
by singing a single note.

Oh sing praises my tired spirit!
Let me collide with your grace
and erupt in praise at your mercy.
Let the earth change as we join voices
with all creation.

Lord, I sing your praises
on a day when all else tells me to lie down,
give up, walk away.
I sing with all creation of your boundless love,
your relentless mercy,
the forgiveness that makes me clean,
the hope that gives me breath.

Because of Him,
Linda
